Sleepers
One piece baby sleepers have been lauded in a day and age when SIDS research indicates that many cases of suffocation can be alleviated with the proper sleepwear. While co sleepers for babies have been decried as potentially being more harmful than useful, the use of infant sleepers and the avoidance of blankets and soft bedding have made the practice almost acceptable.
Baby sleepers are little more than warm and soft full body suits that usually zip into place or are pulled over the child’s head and secured on the inside legs with snaps. The goal of a baby blanket sleeper is to keep the baby warm at night without having to place bedding and blankets inside the crib. These may cause suffocation hazards and are thus warned against by physicians all across the globe.
Dolls made of baby sleepers are also a wonderful keepsake for those sleepers that baby has outgrown. While not all baby blanket sleepers will be considered as being worthy of keeping, a good many do remain in bags and drawers where mom or dad can frequently take them out and remember the times that have flown by. Yet children also like to hang on to some of their sleepers, especially the ones that carry special meanings, such as the infant superman sleeper that superseded even the favorite blanket in later age or the Toronto Maple Leafs baby sleeper – made into a baby doll, these can become great cuddle toys when the child gets older.
Of course, when it comes to sleepers there is no shortage of styles, designs and colors, and by and large baby gowns and sleepers fall into two categories: decorative and sleepwear. Decorative sleepers are usually worn for special occasions, such as Christmas, or for photo sessions at the local portrait studio. The less ornamented sleepers that are used for naps and overnight are usually the baby sleeper made of terry cloth, the cheap baby sleepers with their sometimes peeling designs, and the organic cotton infant blanket sleeper. The organic cotton infant sleeper is a great choice for children who have skin conditions that are brought on by commercial soaps and dyes, and if as an adult you wish to purchase a footed baby sleeper for your little one, make sure to read the kinds of materials that are used to manufacture it! Sweat and even urine may sometimes cause allergic reactions when combined with certain threads.
