Baby clothes are a mix of extreme cuteness, functionality, and a hefty price tag. For example, designer baby clothes wear just as well as no-name brands, yet when your infant outgrows the cool baby clothes with the hefty price tag, you will have to once again dig deep in your pocket to buy the next set of outfits.

While there is nothing wrong with purchasing unique baby clothes for a special occasion, such as a major holiday or family celebration, your infant clothes by and large should be functional and easy to clean. Laces, ribbon, and buttons may look very pretty on the mannequins in the store, but when trying to fasten such an outfit on a squirming baby, suddenly these baby clothes are not as wonderful as you thought they were.

Similarly, beware of cheap baby clothes that may not meet safety standards. For example, while cute baby clothes may have some fasteners on the front, safety rules have suggested that oversized buttons and other accoutrements that may be chewed on by a teething baby and swallowed need to be avoided. On the cheap clothes, you are likely to still find such decorations, and thus you will want to steer clear of them.

It has been said that special attention needs to be paid to preemie baby clothes. For the premature baby, clothes in the right sizes are sometimes hard to come by and you will want to make sure that the little one is kept warm while at the same time not getting overheated. Organic cotton baby clothes are a good choice in this instance, and while they might be more expensive than regular baby clothes, the health benefits that are associated with organic baby clothes may be well worth the extra expense.

Show piece baby clothes are sometimes purchased simply for the taking of a family portrait or other picture, and usually they will include personalized baby clothes or special John Deere infant clothes for that little boy whose picture will be snapped against the backdrop of a farming picture.

By and large, the average consumer will be able to make do with wholesale baby clothes. Yet no matter how well known the brand you are purchasing might be, always consider the safety and also the ease of the baby clothes. While extra snaps in the back might hold the outfit in place, the person in charge of putting on – usually a sleep deprived adult- baby clothes will not appreciate having to hold a crying, squirming and sometimes sheer uncooperative infant in an effort to get her or him dressed. Simplicity is the key in this instance!
